Oral SurgeonsSpecialists in surgery of the mouth and surrounding structure. Many people associate oral surgeons with the removal of teeth (wisdom teeth; extraction of teeth for dentures; extraction of teeth in preparation for braces, etc.). Although this represents a substantial portion to their practice, they are also involved in complex procedures involving the face. These range from the altering of bony structure for cosmetic or functional reasons, to the treatment of facial fractures and the reconstruction of facial structures.
