Welcome to Special Anesthesia Services. We are a group of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), who specialize in caring for patients needing sedation in the dental office setting.
"I couldn't be happier with the care you gave me. I'm going to tell everyone that this is the way to go"

Our team is comprised of board certified anesthesia providers with a back-
ground in intensive care, hospital anesthesia, pain management, and ambulatory
care anesthesia. Although still involved with these duties, we have chosen to
bring office-based anesthesia, the fastest growing anesthesia sub-specialty,
to Kansas.

Special Anesthesia Services provides anesthesia to a broad spectrum of dental
patients, including those who are fearful or phobic, those with a mental
handicap or medical necessity, and to children of all ages. We’ve been dealing
with these and other needs in the dental office setting since 1989.

We recognize that many people avoid visits to the dentist because of concerns about many aspects of the dental experience. We are dedicated to making your visit comfortable and safe.

"The Best Bargain in Healthcare Today"

Health care is expensive, and anesthesia charges are no exception. Special Anesthesia Services, along with our partnering dentists, have fashioned a way to dramatically decrease these costs to our patients, their insurance companies, and to government and private agencies.

Prior to our alliance with the dental community, many dental cases had to be done in hospitals or ambulatory surgery centers (ASC). These facilities charge for their services, of course, and the charges are substantial (usually thousands of dollars per procedure). By giving dentists the ability to perform these procedures in their own offices, we’ve avoided the facility fee. This saves the patient a facility fee co-payment (if they’re insured, and if it’s a covered service). If they’re uninsured, or it’s not a covered service, the patient is stuck with the entire facility charge. And they still have to pay the anesthesia charges, and the dental charges on top of that!

Universally, patients and family are happier going to the dental office, as opposed to the hospital or ASC, as they can arrive a few minutes before the procedure, park right outside, have the procedure, and be gone an hour after it’s done. Contrast this to the hospital experience of having to check-in hours ahead of time, park a block away, and stay several hours afterward.

Without exception, the dentists are much happier as well. They have everything they could possibly need, without having to transport it to the hospital. They can see other patients while we prepare and recover the sedation patient, and they don’t have to spend commute time to and from the hospital. As one dentist is fond of saying, “There’s nothing like cooking in your own kitchen”.

That’s why another dentist has called us “The best bargain in healthcare today”. Give us a try. We know you’ll agree.
